When Layer-2 Shibarium was found to have plagiarized the code of a project called Rinia, Shiba Inu disappointed a lot of users. Even the chainID has not been updated yet. Despite denials from the development team, the price of SHIB nevertheless dropped by almost 10%.
After several days of speculation, Shiba Inu has revealed that its layer 2 Shibarium will be released this week. This layer-2 Ethereum solution is designed specifically for the creation of gaming and metaverse apps.
Shibarium will support greater adoption of SHIB, BONE, and LEASH tokens as well as other tokens in the Shiba Inu ecosystem. In particular, BONE will be used as a layer-2 transaction fee payment token that also pays validators.
The project's community was initially thrilled, but their joy was short-lived when a user revealed on Discord that Shibarium's code had been lifted verbatim from Rinia, a different project. Even the development team was so irresponsible as to leave the chainID alone.
HOLY SHIT. Serious escalation in official $SHIB discord.

Concerns were quickly allayed by notable developers and members of the community by denial.
Yet, the SHIB price has been somewhat impacted; it is currently down 10% over the past 24 hours.
