In a recent release, Avalanche stated that Shopify supported the direct minting and sale of Avalanche NFT on its website. According to the firm, Shopify is a potent e-commerce platform that powers online storefronts for millions of sellers worldwide.
Prior to recently, Shopify had only provided NFT selling and minting to a small number of merchants.
With 5% yearly growth anticipated until 2025, Avalanche NFT online retail ecommerce sales reached $5.4 billion in 2022. Merchants are searching for more creative ways to beat out the competition as ecommerce continues to rise.
Through one of Shopify's blockchain apps, retailers may now mint and list NFTs through their existing shops. The function was created in collaboration with blockchain firm Venly. Those NFTs can now be created on Avalanche thanks to Venly.
Layer 1 blockchain platform Venly is promoted as a quicker and less expensive substitute for the top NFT platform Ethereum. It was established in 2018 and offered blockchain wallet solutions. It is one of several partners who have developed blockchain applications and has been included into the Shopify ecosystem.
Through this cooperation, it was no longer necessary to send buyers toward NFT marketplaces like OpenSea or Magic Eden. Instead, they can use one of Shopify's blockchain apps to mint and list NFTs through their current storefront.
Customers won't need to engage with the coin or have an existing Avalanche wallet in order to acquire NFT. As an alternative, customers can pay using fiat currency (such as a credit card) and get a link to the freshly formed Avalanche wallet that contains NFT, which they can then switch to somewhere else if they'd like.
Venly allows Shopify sellers to sell NFT collections, offer NFT token-controlled interactions, connect NFTs to natural products for verification, and use cases for even additional possibility.
“Our growing blockchain ecosystem demonstrates our commitment to supporting merchants as they sell NFTs directly through their storefronts, helping to grow participation in Web3 further and expand what’s possible in commerce,”
-Shopify’s blockchain ecosystem lead, Christina Lomazzo said.
