Testnet Bridge, a new product from LayerZero that enables users to buy Goerli-ETH with $ETH, was just released. Also, the Ethereum community on Twitter has expressed both good and negative opinions about the cross-chain bridge.

Using a liquidity pool set up on the primary and Goerli test networks, Testnet Bridge enables users to purchase Goerli-ETH with $ETH. Users are able to exchange their mainnet $ETH for Goerli-ETH and vice versa using the cross-chain bridge. Positive reviews and ferocious criticism of the product have come from the Ethereum community, particularly Ethereum developers.
By establishing a market where people can buy Goerli-ETH using $ETH, LayerZero's Testnet Bridge gives the Goerli-ETH currency, which was initially priced at $0.1, value.
As a result, Goerli-ETH can now be acquired by Ethereum developers on the testnet without the need for Goerli faucets. Users can simply switch between the two currencies thanks to LayerZero's deployment of a liquidity pool on both the Goerli test network (Goerli-ETH / Mainnet-ETH) and the main network (ETH / Goerli-ETH).

Some developers voiced their displeasure with the time-consuming and labor-intensive process of obtaining Goerli-ETH through the faucet in the comment section and expressed a willingness to buy more testnet tokens if necessary.
Gregory Markou, citing an Ethereum Foundation video, disagrees that application developers should have a lot of Goerli-ETH and suggests using Sepolia as opposed to Goerli for application testing. This sentiment is shared by Ethereum Foundation developer parties, who state, "Please don't (buy Goerli-ETH). Employ Sepolia in its place! ”
